Just read The Last Centurion
 

I just finished reading The Last Centurion by John Ringo. Great book. It's not a survivalist book but it deals with a lot of timely stuff that we are seeing right now. The country is at war (with Iran), we have an incompetant President, America has an economic collapse and the world faces a significant cooling phase. It offers a lot of information about society breaking down and why some groups do better than others. There's also a great deal of info about what farmers go through. The book is about a soldier fighting his way through the Middle East while all of this is going on but the parallels to America today are enough to get you angry and disgusted.
Anyway, I'd recommend the book even though it's written in the blog style which I'm not too crazy about.
